All 5 rooms other
then #GHC are public. They can be added to the #GHC
in the Free Java Chat room. #GHC is a private chat room so it is not
listed on the Server. Only those who know the room will know that it
exists. When you go to the chat room you can add , then the room you
want to add to join both #GHC and the other rooms.
Example: You want to join #Stargate and #Galactica but not the others.
Erase #GHC and replace with
#Stargate,#Galactica
Example2: You want to join all six rooms at the same time.
Add this to #GHC Tip: you can also copy and paste these rooms
,#Geek,#geekhideout,#Tec_Support,#Stargate,#Galactica
Notice the , that is what keeps two or more channels from blending
together.
You can also use the join Command to get to the rooms you already know
while you are using IRC Chat.
/join #Geek or /join #Tec_Support etc and that is it.

To join the GH
Public Chat you will need a nickname you can use the same nickname you
use on the forum. Actually its better to use the same
nickname so we know who you are. Once you get there in the chat room
its advisable to register your nickname so nobody else can use it.
Don't worry its very easy. You will need to enable popups for this to
work. Once you are in the chat room you want to go to the commands
section.
Choose nickserv, see the picture below and click image for a larger
view.

Once you have chosen Nickserv a
you will get a pop up.

In the popup click on register and you will get a pop up where you can register your nick. All feilds are required and don't worry the email is needed to validate your nickname. Nobody can see it and you won't get any spam.  |

is it you are now registered. Remember your password as you will need
it for when you sign in. If you sign in without a password and nick.
Type this for your nick where "yournickname" is your actual nickname. /nick yournickname
You will then need to identify yourself yourself so your nickname won't change. Remember "password" iis your actual password. /ns identify password
For more info click the help button in the chatroom. Float will give you a pop up that will be like msn messenger. The room button gives you a list of rooms. |
